The pool is located in the neighborhood play area between Hawk and Heron Streets, and is the second neighborhood pool constructed by the Lions' Club for Kitimat youngsters. Both pools, on completion, were turned over to the municipality for operation under the municipal recreation program. Pool supervisors are provided by the municipal playground staff during the two month summer holiday period each year.

With Captain Scott are centre, D.J. Murray, manager of Northern Dock and Warehouse, Kitimat and charter Lions' member Norman Handford, who was recently appointed zone chairman for the new Lions zone area comprised of clubs in Kitimat, Terrace and Hazelton.

Later the Reeve impishly turned the water on again while a number of youngsters, clad in spring clothing scurried to drier quarters. The pool will commence operation later in the season.
