History / Biographical
Gabriel (Gabor) Nyeste was one of the leaders of the Scouts of the First Kitimat Troop (Boy Scouts). He moved to Kitimat to work on the Alcan project and left in the early 60s. He passed away in Kamloops in July 2020.

Photographs of the retrieval of a sunken helicopter in Kitlope Lake by the Haisla. The project was sponsored by the Department of Indian Affairs, Ministry of Fisheries and Ministry of the Environment. The helicopter sank in 1993, but action to pull it out wasn't started until 1995. Dates that it was pulled are listed as June 2 evening and June 3 morning on original envelope.
