Mrs. Mauno Pelto, a non-resident of Kitimat., will join the judges for the elimination round to determine the three best gardens of the year. Results will be announced in The Sentinel, August 19 and prizes will be awarded at the Rotary Flower Show August 21st.

Judges recommened the municipality give a lead in a progressive program of boulevard seeding to improve general appearance of the residential areas.

The Demelt garden is one of several well-developed efforts in the Whitesail area, putting this neighborhood in the forefront with Kildala. Judges agreed that there is a noticeable decline in garden care and upkeep in Nechako area. Mr. & Mrs. Demelt scored heavily for their use of rockeries.

Jennings at 92 Babine. Mr. & Mrs. Jennings have won honorable mention in past contests for their garden. One of the finest in Kildala, it has helped that neighborhood maintain a lead place in the past few competitions.

Nasturtiums being cut by Mr. Coultan, head cook at Townsite Camp, are on of the favourite flowers of Mrs. coultan. Lack of sunshine hasn't helped the flowers reach full blossom, but the inclement weather hasn't been exclusive to Kitimat. It's the same all along the coast.
