Nine photographs of burnt down remains of the City Centre Homestead (Spring 1980), totem poles at the Kitamaat Village (Jul 1980), a ridge pole of an old longhouse (Spring 1980).
Photos were taken by John Stokes, a Federal Fisheries employee who visited Kitimat for work purposes. Likely taken from a floatplane while landing in the area.

John McLachlan arrived in Kitimat in 1953 as a 23-year-old immigrant and went on to work at Alcan's Property Engineering Department for almost 40 years. He started out as a land surveyor and cartographer in the town's early years and ended his career as a Senior Legal Draftsmen.
