Hank Boss stands at the far left and Bruce Johnstone in the center. Their wives are by them. The lodge had tec rooms and a large bath in the lean to. People came to the hot springs by foot and by boat.

James 'Jim' Smythe served as Kitimat's first RCMP officer from March 1952 to September 1953. This photo was taken early in his police career, likely in Manitoba or Saskatchewan.
