A Kitimat tea set consisting of 1 teapot with lid (.1a-b), four saucers (.2-.5), four cups (.6-.9), a sugar bowl (.10), creamer pitcher (.11), and stand (.12).
All are white with gold trim, except for the stand, which is entirely gold.
The teapot, cups .6, .8, and .9, the creamer pitcher and the sugar bowl all have two images, one on either side: a bridge crossing a river, and an overhead view of the Alcan project near the Douglas Channel. Beneath the first image is the caption "Aluminum Center of the World" beneath and the words "Kitimat, B.C." in a yellow banner.
Cup .7 has an image of the Delta King in the Channel, with "Kitimat, B.C. Aluminum Centre of Canada" on yellow banners beneath it.
Plate .2 has this same image of the Delta King, while plates .3-.5 have an aerial view of Kitimat.

Inscriptions
All pieces (except the stand) say "Royal Ascot Bone China" and "Made in England" on the bottom with the image of a crown. The teapot and creamer pitcher are numbered 159, the sugar bowl and most of the plates and cups 159A, and plate .2 and cup .7 280. The teapot and creamer pitcher say say "Munson's Drugs Ltd," and plate .2 and cup .7 say "exclusively for Erwin Jewellery."
"Royal Ascot" Cups and saucers are white and all have gold trimming. It has printed on each cup "Kitimat B.C. Aluminum Centre of Canada".
970.44.3 b is a saucer and it has the Delta King printed on it.

Biographical Notes
Items Collected by Malcom Baxter, former editor of NSP. Malcolm died in 2020. His father Basil, was very instrumental in the organization of Kitimat in the early years. Basil was married to Cathy Baxter and they had two sons - Malcolm and Michael. The items were delivered by Judith Cullington - Malcolm's sister-in-law.
Barney Mulvaney's dog team with mail from Kitimat nearing Hazelton 1910 see too :Kitselas white settlement.
The fabulous Barney Mulvany renowned throughout the north country, now living in retirement at Burns Lake, began his experiences on the Skeena when he carried Her Majesty's mail by dog team and on his back from Kitamat to Hazelton. His was a roving character and in his own words "my first ambition was to start at the mouth of every river in B.C. and go to the head of it to see what was on the other side of the summit". This he claims to have accomplished, but the Skeena was his first love and his wanderings always brought him back to its banks. Like years have been occupied with recording his experiences in prose and verse. His ballad of "Kitselas" recounts a legend of the Skeena doubtless gleaned as he camped with his Indigenous friends along the trail from Kitselas to Hazelton.
