Biographical Notes
Hubert Evans and his family lived amongst the Haisla in Kitimaat Village for 2 1/2 years in the late 1940s. His wife Anna taught at the day school there. Evans wrote many books, short stories, plays, and serials, including "Mist on the River," a novel about a young Gitksan man (see Notes).
"Since 1968 the Kitimat Business and Professional Women's Club have contributed over 30 books to the public library. Donated this week as part of D+P week were five books, all written by women. Participating (l. to r.) Betty Lepingwell, Ruth Robertson, Beryl McBean, and Betty King."
