"Incoming mails has started to stacken off now"{ said post master Fred Emmerson. "It appears that this year the mail will be as heavy as in past years."

Building has an assembly rrom with seating capacity of 260, a kitchen, a committee room and parlour, two offices, lavatories, heating facilities, and a large entrance vestibule. The carved gavel is being carried from municipiality to municipiality in the province and will eventually be installed in the museum in Victoria. The gavel was later used that evening to open a meeting of Centennial Committee and then taken to Prince Rupert by Reeve Sam Lindsay for presentation to Mayor P.J. Lester."
