Photo showing "This way folks or I shoot!" "Barker" J.A.G. King ran his game of chance at the Legion Klondike nights here with all the fervor of a rootin', tootin' sourdough. Using the lusty cry of "three for a quarter or I'll shoot you", the enticed customers to his stall where they belted down mild bottles with baseballs at the rate of three throws for two bits.

From the years 1953-1958, Mike Kinnear took photos during his school years, until graduation, while working for Fred Ryan Ltd. after school and holidays. Photos for him was a hobby, and he took many photos of the smelter and townsite as it grew around him. Mike also took a number of photos for the Kitimat Northern Sentinel, during the Ken Brumley and Pixie Meldrum years as editors. Mike and his family left Kitimat in 1958, but he spent the best part of 40 years in the photographic field, mainly in the retail/wholesale part of the photo industry.

Photograph of the life jacket drill is given the young sea cadets above aboard HMCS Oriole on the occasion of the ships visit to Kitimat this week. The nautically- minded young fellows are enrolled in the newly- formed sea cadet corps and about 36 of them jumped at the chance off a cruise in the bay. Members of the 15 member crew enlisted the aid of the young would be tars in raising the sails and other duties.
