Photograph of 30 volunteer men, and memebers of the municipal volunteer Fire Department joined the municipal fire fighting force. When fire razed the first apartment building which was in the course of internal construction damage to the building has been estimated at about $175 000 and a slightly higher figure for loss of building materials stored in the structure. Insurance adjusters are working on the loss estimates during the week. Immediate reconstruction of the 17- apartment block will commence once structural engineers approve the foundation to which little damage was done, it is thought. If is expected that prospective tenants will be delayed. Only neighbouring tent frames were damaged in the fire.
