The days program of events nin this years being sponsored and co-ordinated by Kitimats Kiwanis club, memebers of which has been hard at work over past several months on plans to make it a "red letter" day for everyone in the community. Day starts with a Kiwanis pancake breakfast followed by a car relay, the July 1 parade, sports events and winding up with the shoiw at 8pm.

the background are some of the 1867 panels created as decor for the affair by Mrs. Gerry Vanderhorst. A special feature of the evening will-be an auction of personal items donated by several Government officials in Ottawa."
