The Kitimat Chinese Association was founded in 1985. Their purpose was to connect all Chinese Canadians in Kitimat, with the local people too. They encouraged the members involved in the community to show and share Chinese culture with the people in Kitimat. Like activities in Multicultural Day, Canada Day, Canada Cancer Society's Relay of Life, etc. Every year they had three gatherings, summer picnic, Christmas and Chinese New Year. The association disbanded in December 2008 as most of the members got older and retired.

Loose material, including newspaper/magazine articles, photographs, maps, and negatives of photos from the album, has been stored in two separate envelopes.
Bill was one of the superintendents with Saguenay Kitimat and J.B. Whittan was his boss and idol, they were wonderful times and great memories. Bill passed away Dec 27th. He worked for Federal Gov't for 30 years with national parks across Canada.

Album dismantled and contents sorted into envelopes for safer archival storage. Album used an adhesive which was not ideal for the preservation of the photos. Album pages copied and put into archival storage.
