Plaque displaying names of Preceptor Gamma Epsilon Girls of the Year from 1983 to 2002. Made of dark brown wood, cut in a heart-like shape, with yellow flowers painted near the top. Alice Dicker's father, Benard, came to Canada to work in 1955. He was a foreman D-shift for Alcan. He married Anna in 1959. Alice and her sister Claudia were born in Kitimat and the family lived here until 1969, at which time they returned to Germany.

Photograph showing two Kemano residents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Mund on the deck of the Italian Line's S.S Raffaello in New York harbor prior to sailing for an extended holiday in Europe. Mr. and Mrs. Mund travelled through the states before catching their ship at New York and plan a motor trip through Germany and other European countries before returning home.

Large wooden plaque.
The plaque took over 5,000 hours to complete, from 1965 to 1967. Fifteen hardwood veneers were used including walnut, yew, maple, cherry, and mahogany.
The plaque depicts our ten provinces, each with a coat of arms that includes symbols of the provincial resources and manufacturing. Western provinces are on the left—when facing the plaque – and eastern provinces are on the right. All provincial coat of arms hang on a chain linking them together in the shape of an eagle watching over the provinces. Religion and government are represented with a church and the parliament buildings in Ottawa inside a face, representative of one—a complete nation with music, sport, industry and religion. On the maple leaf stalk there are two beavers.
The first Canadian house, a teepee, has two men seated inside—a First Nations man wearing a headdress and an RCMP officer in uniform, both smoking pipes, symbols of peace. A knot in the wood has been strategically placed by Mr. Dal Monte as the eye of the RCMP officer.

Biographical Notes
This plaque was created by Mr. Dal Monte to celebrate and honour his new home, Canada. Mr. Dal Monte conducted extensive research to learn about the provinces. He had always wanted to create inlay and thought of this project to commemorate the Canadian centennial. The new flag was being planned at the time, and Kitimat was multi-ethnic with 60+ nationalities represented and all working together.
Malcolm Baxter died in 2020. His father Basil, was very instrumental in the organization of Kitimat in the early years. Basil was married to Cathy Baxter and they had two sons - Malcolm and Michael.

Part of items collected by Malcolm Baxter, former editer of NSP. Brought into the museum by Judith Cullington, Malcolm's sister-in-law.

The Prince Rupert Daily News is a community oriented newspaper that has been in continuous print for nearly one hundred years. With a proud tradition as the paper of record for Prince Rupert, BC since 1911, the Daily News is still going strong today. The newspaper provides their community and others with the latest information on local news, sports, and cultural activities around the area and important issues concerning Prince Rupert and the North Coast.
Custodial History
Stored at the Prince Rupert Daily News until the collection was transfered, as part of a larger collection, to the Prince Rupert City & Regional Archives. The part of the collection pertaining to Kitimat/Kemano was transfered to the Kitimat Museum & Archives in January of 2010.
Scope and Content
The collection consists of photographs of the Alcan Smelter casting in Kitimat, power operations and residential areas in Kemano.
