Eight members of the Chrysler Club in the MESS Industrial Education Department travelled to Vancouver for the contest. Ron Minaker and Dean Bollard placed fifth in the written test. The money was raised for the trip over the last year by youths Dave Kokesch, Richard Watt, Russel Gutnecht, Mike de Lisser, Peter Robichaud, Gerald Farina, Brian Kilgore, Howard Nelson and instructors Rick Brayton and John Smith.
