Pan-Abode is interlocking red cedar building materials invented in 1948 in British Columbia. The builders of Kitimat chose innovative materials such as Pan-Abode for the town. Pan-Abode was used in some of the first prototype homes on Kitimat's first streets - Oriole, Pintail, and Partridge. Photograph of unidentified Haisla students from the Kitamaat Village arriving at the Kitimat Wharf. Students were ferried across the Douglas Channel to attend school in Kitimat. Boat was used prior to the construction of a road in ca. 1965.
