Photos of early Kitimat life, including Hans W. Harnoth and Shirley Harnoth, parents of Harry Harnoth. Hans. W. Harnoth was born in Berlin but immigrated to Kitimat after hearing about job opportunities at Alcan. Hans and Shirley Harnoth were in Kitimat from 1955-1958, and always ranted and raved about how beautiful Kitimat was and all the wonders it has to offer.

Photograph of Jaycees decorating trees. Jaycee Rick Walton, Bud Johnson and Bob Merriam change burnt out bulbs on one of Kitimat's numerous decorated Christmas trees. Christmas lighting has been a large assignment for the Jaycees this year. Over 225 man hours of labor were spent in putting out decorations and Christmas lighting.

The 40 foot giant, erected on the site by Crown Zellerbach, is the annual project of the Kitimat Jaycees with financial backing of the senior Chamber of Commerce. In keeping with the original plan of something new each year the huge "Season's Greeting" sign has been added this year along with a further development of the Nativity scene.
