Entirely preplanned - the "city centre" lies in the neck of the "townsite" and the "service centre" across the Kitimat River. The "Smeltersite" is at the end of Douglas Channel.
This view overlooks "City Centre", adjacent to the "Kildala" area of a preplanned city. Originally the townsite of Aluminum Company of canada, other industries are now favoring the area
