"Bright yellow T-shirts which most winners will have to grow into were presented to 8 students who completed more than 50 miles in the Run for Fun program conducted at Thornhill Primary School between February and the middle of May of this year. Receiving T-shirts presented by Don Smythe, District 88 school superintendent, were Connie Lyons, Tina Smith, Kerry Paulis, David Haits, and Shannon Dempster. Guiding force behind the program was teacher R.Thistle Walker who also got a T-shirt for jogging 50 miles or more."

"IT SHOULD BE GOOD: Entrusted with candy booth: at the Frosty Fair and Frolic to be held in the Angelican Church Hall tomorrow are members of the Junior Girls' Auxiliary. They are shown here busily preparing some of the popular stuff with help from the Cubs of Christ Church Cub Pack who will act as salesmen for their wares. The Junior Auxiliary is under the direction of Mrs.John Purkis who will oversee the youngsters efforts to raise money for their church tomorrow."
