Photograph of the construction crews are racing the weather in Kitimat trying to get holes dug and filled in again before the fall rains and the winter snows. In Service Centre along side commercial Ave, a back hoe digs a trench for the laying of sewer pipes which next year will carry Service Centre wastes to the new sewage treatment plant. A specially equipped B.C. hydro truck holds power pole upright and rigid during the excavation.

Under the direction of the Gil Pousard and Dave Allen an Alcan crew worked on this logjam at the Alcan road, until shift change Tuesday. The jam backed water up over the road north of the bridge.
