Photo showing two Kitimat men, Hans Peterson and Frank Behrens building a boat beside their home. Both men were fishermen and sailors before coming to Canada from Hamburg, Germany. The plans were for a 45 foot boat. The ten foot beam was laid in the upstairs of the house and moved out into the yard during spring.

Alice Dicker's father, Benard, came to Canada to work in 1955. He was a forman D-shift for Alcan. He married Anna in 1959. Alice and her sister Claudia were born in Kitimat and the family lived here until 1969, at which time they returned to Germany.

Five pieces of snow removal equipment are being added for the winter season. Municipality is getting two Sicard Junior Snow-masters, two Ford Model 660 tractors with Sicard blowers, and one Michigan model 85A tractor loader. Norm Barber, right, director of Public Works, looks over the Sicard blower with John Larsen, assistant maintenance supervisor.
