Fourteen Sikorsky S-55 helicopters were used as workhorses and load carriers during construction. Carl Agar and his crew with Okanagan Helicopters took men and materials to otherwise inaccessible spots. The trucks carried concrete directly to the new smelter in the townsite and assisted in all other town and smelter construction. -- The batch plant was located at "Gravel Mountain" - the sandhill.
