Girls at the long distance board are shown above with Mrs. Elizabeth McGill (right) who is putting through one of the 1659 long distance calls placed by Kitimat and Terrace residents during the three day Christmas rush. Local calls handled by the exchange in the same three days, December 24, 25, and 26, totalled 35094, with the heavist traffic Christmas Eve when, 14346 calls were handled.

He is a native born German who is employed in the property department of the Aluminum Company.
