The handle is a deep cream colour, possibly made of ivory, and has "Hudson's Bay Company incorporated 2nd May 1670" engraved on one side and "Kitimat Townsite B.C." on the other. Each blade has "I-XL George Wostenholm Sheffield England" and "stainless steel" engraved near the hilt.

There are cracks running top-to-bottom around each of the metal bolts/nails at each end of the handle. Ivory (?) may be discoloured from age. The metal edges of the handle appear tarnished, especially along the side where the blades can be pulled out.
